Not much knitting going on

beosilk.jpg
in the house of the sick ! Oliver is beginning to recover from cold no.9 since he started at nursery last September.I know it's a ''good thing'' ,as his immune system is getting a work out,and will be stronger when he's older, but it is getting boring ! Oliver spent the weekend and this week ,so far, attached like a limp, sweaty limpet.I've spent hours through the night with him draped over my shoulder ,just so that he'd go to sleep. Ah ,motherhood ! It's not so bad really ,except that it's impossible to knit ,and now I've got it . Yuk.
I'm almost at the finger shapings on fingerless number two.
I got a beautiful ball of Beo eyelash from Sissel ,which just happens to exactly match the new velvet skirt I've just hemmed - a lovely ,rich claret. Much nicer than this pic shows ,but it gives you an idea. I had a rummage in my stash and found a ball of Maxwell Cartlidge [long, long gone silk yarn specialists in the U.K.] 4ply silk. What a luscious ,triangular scarf this will make ! [silk on right ,obviously].
I'm giving my webcam a 2nd chance ! I think I've sorted the problem . We shall see.
Roll on Saturday ,when we're off to Whitby and Bobbins - being ill won't stop me . There's yarn with my name on it !!!

Oh look.

An Alpaca fingerless glove. This is so soft ...quick ,quick ,make the other one .
I thought ,at one point ,that 50gm wouldn't be enough, but this glove weighs less than 25gm.Sissel is sending me another ball - I panicked ! - ,which I may use to make another pair for someone.
The Alpaca has no elasticity ,so ,very unusually for me ,there's a 'ladder' where I changed form one needle to another . I shall just pull the fabric about a bit whilst it's damp ,when I wash them .
I love this yarn !

I haven't started Temple yet . I thought I should finish my gloves ,and maybe a few other things. Not sure how strong my resolve will be ! My thinking was that I would more than likely drop Temple to knit my Einstien ,once I've been to Whitby to collect my Tagliatelli !

Looks like I'm going to have to make do with scanned pictures as ,having de-installed [ ? ] my webcam it seems that it and my i-Mac do not get on ,at all !
It's a shame as I would have liked to have posted a pic of our ''Knitting Triangle'' get together on Saturday afternoon. I had a great time with Jill and Geraldine ,at Geraldine's gorgeous home this time . They are great company ,being witty and intelligent ,and it's so nice to spend time with other people who are passionate about knitting.Sissel added a great deal to our fun by sending us a package full of lovely eyelash yarns for us to share out and play with . Thank you so much Sissel ,our honorary member !
