Thank you so much Jillian. You know I love you already !
I'll be able to finish this scarf soon.Happy, happy knitter,I am.
Here's a scan of the scarf to give a better view the pattern.Obviously,it'll open out more once I've blocked it.

The colours in this scan are truer than the photos,if a tad dark.
I am so in love with Koigu painters pallette laceweight yarn.I waste time scanning the net for beautiful, homeless skeins of Koigu.I visit the boys at Threadbear, then go to Needles and Pins and The Knitting Zone .Of course you all know that my dream is to stand in front of a real wall of Koigu.Sigh !
Whist waiting for some gorgeous Koigu I'm knitting some socks.

The yarn is more a pale teal, rather than this blue.
These are Debbi Young's Pretty Comfy Socks,in Elann's Esprit,in Peacock Green. It's exactly the same as Fixation. The same fibres, yardage and colours.
I'm knitting them on 3.00mm needles,not the 3.25mm suggested,as I want a snug fit - well,I want the recipient to have a snug fitting sock !
Some more garden photos !

This one shows one of our apple trees in front of a climbing rose and large white clematis that are full of buds.I am really looking forward to when they flower.

Our Clematis Montana Elizabeth.Very pretty and sweet smelling.
The long, flower filled days of summer stretch ahead.

I'm a few yards short of P112
[The fourth along from the left,on the top row.].I've searched high and low.If anyone has just a few yards of this colour,or one that would be compatible,I will love you forever, and do a fair exchange with you.Pretty please.
I think it's a combination of my decrease rows taking just a tad more yarn than my increase rows, and that not all skeins are created equal.
I have really enjoyed knitting this scarf.A simple pattern, without being mindless.Gorgeous yarn that looks fantastic and drapes beautifully. If the weather carries on being so cold and damp I may even have the pleasure of wearing it before the Autumn.
Whilst I was feeling fed-up about not quite being able to finish this scarf I did some gardening.

These pictures were taken at dusk,so are lit by the automatic flash. The colours are pretty true.
As it's been so wet,for so long, everything is looking rather lush.A few flowers are starting to show their faces. My Golden Oregano
[bottom left] is romping away !

I have a number of little alpine pots. One contains this stunner.

The blue is almost breathtaking in it's beauty, and blueness.I wish I could remember it's name.
~
It took some creative googling, but I found the name of my little blue flowered plant : Lithospermum
Blue Star. Now I want to buy some more.So cheerfully pretty.
As it happens, one of my preferred forms.
Of poetry,that is.

But first a picture of a fab top knitted by Sissel.

Very Issey Miyake,I think.Sissel used Colinette's Tagliatelli in colour Marble. It's Biatriz from Colinette's Back Stage book of patterns.
Sissel says that she very much enjoyed knitting it.I think it looks great.
I received a fantastic parcel from a friend with whom I have a very enjoyable rolling exchange. Not just enjoyable because of the fantastic things I get from her but also because I have so much fun choosing stuff for her.

The books are great.Knitter's Stash is a great surprise, full of things I want to knit or use as a base for my own design.
Kay,if you don't have this you need to look at it for the 2nd pattern - the Graduated Ribbed Top.I think you should knit this !
Folk Bags and Folk Vests are both full of fantastic patterns too.Should keep me occupied for ages.Oh,does that mean I need to buy more yarn ?...
With these books were two delicious and delightful skeins of Koigu, colour P824.

[These colours are the closest to the actual colours that I could capture. The picture below is a little too pink.]
Notice how the colours match my recently finished fingerless mittens ! I see another scarf being started imminently ! I'd better look for another pattern.
Actually,my nearly finished Koigu scarf [see previous entry] contains sections of exactly the same colour as my fingerless gloves.

These things make me very happy!
Such passions! Such friends!
