Back to the knitting.

I'm surfacing after a week long cold with sinusitis.Fab ! Oliver was ill last week too.How I ever get any knitting done is a miracle. There'll be even less done over the next seven weeks as school has broken up for the summer.Mama will be busy entertaining her chick.
I finished this light as a feather alpaca/merino cashmere blend scarf.

With a delicate seed bead edge.

The recipient seemed pleased, which is always gratifying.
I then knitted this scarf as a gift for Oliver's headteacher.

She's so supportive of him and works very hard to make sure he has all he needs - it's all about funding.
I chose gold lined beads to contrast with the lovely tweedy, deep red Silke-Tweed.

I contained myself when she said how beautiful my 'crochet' was ! She liked it.That's what counts.Really it is !
I finished the Lucy Neatby socks. Not the best pic as it's hard to seperate the two in this photo. They'll be sent off next week.

I've started a pair in the Opal Carnival from Get Knitted.

They're nice and bright.Very summery, unlike our dire weather.
My Day Lilies add some sunshine to the garden.

It's not about not sharing,it's about respect.

As you all know I enjoy sharing lots of knitting goodness with you.Links to pics of favourite and new yarns,to great blogs, fab deals...you know it's true.I like posting lots of nice images.Images that I made, that show things that I made or stuff I think you'd like to see.I share plenty ! I give encouragement and praise, which is all genuine, and help if I can.
So,I'm mad.Really mad.Spitting feathers mad with the slimey little b***ards who have been hotlinking my images.See.I'm sharing again,so that you can prevent these little f***ers from fleecing you.I told you I was mad.I'm a calm and reasonable person. It takes a lot to get me mad,but when it happens I swear a lot.
I'm editing here.
Believe me.
I pay for my bandwidth. Not a fortune, but it's all money[yarn !].I pay so that I can post lots of images. So that I can have 500-600 visitors a day without my site crashing. My stats tell me that my bandwidth is through the roof, and beyond.Over 4,000 files were accessed.86% + were .jpg files. Some nasty little toe-rag has stolen my images.Everytime their site is viewed, because they have hotlinked, they syphen off my bandwidth.

Just so that everyone understands.Just to be perfectly clear.

DON'T TAKE IMAGES OR TEXT FROM MY SITE,EVEN IF YOU DON'T HOTLINK.

It isn't nice or honourable. If you like a pic,for whatever reason, just link to the relevant page. It's easy. That's what I do.It doesn't mean that I'm mean and nasty.I share by putting stuff on my blog. The only things that you can take, with my permission, are my button and the two buttons above.Download them onto your own server.Simple.
Regardless of copyright issues,I think it's terribly rude to lift chunks of text from my blog, out of context - especially if you are not literate enough to understand that if I describe a certain behaviour as perverse I am not calling you a pervert ! -.Far better to just link to my blog.NOT HOTLINK.

I don't go on the knitting forums, except the Rowan international forum which doesn't host pics.If any of you in your surfing travels see any of my images please come back and tell me.I really would appreciate it,and will love you forever.

Don't fret.I feel so much calmer now.My talented and attentive blog hostess - a good reason to pay for my site is the support I get - and I are on the case.We will find the nasty thieves and we will block their links, and I may well send the boys round ![That's a joke.] Unless,of course,I get a grovelling apology.

Possibly.

~

Addendum :

This explains hotlinking, and why it's bad.
Jackie asked about .htaccess files. It's going to be implemented by a far more computer savvy person than I ! it's hard to know which of my hundreds of images are being hotlinked, and I do feel the need to know. And to know who the ''toe-rag'' [that one was for Kay !] is.All in good time.

Here's another link, that's very good, sent to me by Froggy.
