Butterfly !

I've finished the side decreases on my second front, and am almost at the armhole. Then it's the back - lots of it ! - ,then joining everything up for the sleeve top/shoulder shaping.Until I get there I shall think about how to improve the collar and how it sits...
I'm knitting Butterfly in Silk Garden no.71.I love the colours.I honestly am just picking balls out of the bag at random ! The bottoms of both fronts match,as do the bottoms of the sleeves. Now that's good knitter's Karma.I had to really darken this pic to get the colours close to accurate. The white in the palest purple seems to flare and distort all the other colours.
I'm still knitting Pickpocket, spending the 15 to 20 minutes that Allan spends reading stories each night gradually working on the back.
I started a new 'waiting in playground' project.

Isn't this Touch Yarns boucle kid mohair/merino blend gorgeous. This pic hasn't managed to capture the hints of teal and purple, but you get the idea.I'm knitting a simple shawl/ette with occasional simple lace panels for my amusement,on 8mm needles.I shall knit until I have enough left to cast off. It's beautifully soft and light.Mohair takes dye so well. The blues glow.Sadly Touch yarns don't appear to have a site to link to.
Added later : Yes they do !

Oliver has a new wheelchair [and rather fab new orthotic boots ! He chose the red frame of the wheelchair and the burnt orange suede of the boots.].

He's very proud of it.It represents his first taste of freedom as,even with the use of just one hand,he can wheel himself about a little bit.We collected it yesterday and he's already got the hang of reversing ! It made me want to cry with joy to see his pleasure at his increased mobility.Just wish it hadn't taken six months to get it.Now the fight starts for an electric wheelchair and real freedom !
The generous and thoughtful Christina was my Secret Pal [2].
Thank you so much Christina for your wonderful gifts.I really appreciate the effort you put into making this a great experience for me.
