I had a charming and kind letter from the Chief Barker of the Variety Club. I'm not entirely sure what a Chief Barker is. He seems to be a comittee chairman. I digress.
The Variety Club have talked the supplier of the Hippo wheelchair into giving them a 10% discount [£798.90 !],they've taken into account what there is in Oliver's Fund and ... are very generously paying the remainder. Oliver's new electric wheelchair is being ordered today !!!
WOW ! FANTASTIC! We are so thrilled. Oliver is incredibly excited. I really didn't expect to hear so soon, and we hadn't dared to hope. It really has been a dream come true.
The letter did ask that,if we had raised anymore money, could we put that toward the chair,in order to free some money for another child. I shall be adding the amounts from the two auctions here and here, and any other money recently received.
This really wouldn't have been possible without all of your help. As with most charities,The Variety Club asked about what fundraising we'd been doing. They look more favourably on requests from people who have managed some fundraising themselves.
We owe you all such a debt of gratitude for this, the car seat, stair lift and Oliver's much loved trike. Thank you so very, very much.

I will keep Oliver's Fund going as there are some vital pieces of equipment we will now need re:the electric wheelchair. More on that later.

My poor neglected Better Pal. I am going to post pictures and the reveal next post. I'm now full of cold. Haven't felt this bad in a long time. So,I'll post again when I've stopped coughing, blowing my nose and feeling crap !

Life is so good and so many people are generous and giving. We have a lot to be grateful for.
