GIFTS FROM MYSELF AND OTHERS !

I'm going to tell you about my knitting related presents, but not my others. Before that I have to tell you about a little something I bought for myself. You know. New year, new project !
This is the most knitting fun I've had in ages ! Easy, but totally fab. It's the ''Wine and Olives Bead Soup Bracelet'' from Earth Faire. I bought a pack of these irridescent leaf beads to add to the mix. Adding extra bling to the bling !

Here's a pic with flash.
I'm getting myself this for my birthday present to myself [as you do !],augmented with these fab dagger beads. A touch of Goth with the beads. Fab ! I love beads and really enjoy making stitch markers for people, but these are even better. Great service, three days to the U.K.,and a great presentation. You get loads of beads, some free samples to try and a plastic thingy for threading the beads onto the supplied metallic thread, plus a catch.
I found this place when Mamacate linked to their leaf bracelets. Another place to visit is Marie's Knitti-me blog. She gives instructions for a great bead fringed bracelet that makes me think of 1920s flappers. The tutorial to make that amazing bracelet is in the three previous posts to the one I linked to.

To quote Norma : "Nothin' says lovin' like gifts from the coven.'' ! All good witches, may I add.
Sissel knows the way to my heart. I love fine Alpaca yarn and this colour is so very beautiful. So very me !

I am going to have to get some yarn to make a cardigan to go with those gorgeous buttons.
As if that wasn't fabulous enough she gifted me some superbly soft merino rovings in fabulous dark colours.

Thank you so much Sissel. You know me so well !

My dear friend Heather gave me this perfect silk.

My friend Tracey pronounced it my ''signature colour' when she saw it. An aside : it's so nice to spend an afternoon showing new yarns and patterns to someone who really gets it ! I got to see and admire her latest aquisitions too. A fun afternoon.

From Polly and Sue two great hanks of exciting and colourful yarn, full of creative promise. I already have ideas. Just need more time ! As ever.

So,you see,I have been very spoilt.
Didn't stop me doing a tiny amount of sale shopping ! I decided to knit a second Misty Garden scarf from Scarf Style.
This is probably my most worn handknit from this [obviously I mean last year !] year. I like to wear it folded and tucked through the slot, mainly for the extra warmth on the throat. I always hope it looks vaguely stylish too !
A reminder.

[The above scarf was knitted in the yarn called for in the pattern.]
The yarn was on sale [at Get Knitted] and I decided on Blueberry.

O.K.,I've run out of steam. Next time some stuff about Oliver and more yarn and fluff. Maybe even some knitting.
