PRETTY,PRETTY YARN !

I seem to have lost the blogging and e-mailing habits ! That,or life just gets in the way sometimes. Not much knitting has been done of late due to summer holidays and the traumas of window replacement, which I can't bring myself to tell you about. It'll only elevate my blood pressure !
I intend to get a decent amount of knitting done this weekend when Allan does stuff with Oliver. Shopping mostly,if Oliver has anything to do with it. He loves to shop. I think it's the people watching opportunities it affords !

I received my sock club and lace club yarns from Posh yarns. Beautiful yarn as ever. The lace yarn is at the front.

I ordered some yarn for a gift for a friend. Dee sent this delicious silk/cashmere 4ply by mistake.

In a display of great customer service she responded immediately, apologised, told me to keep this beautiful yarn and that she'd dye what I'd ordered and send it straight away. Posh Yarns have really lovely yarns, but what keeps my modest custom is being treated well. If you value my custom you have my loyalty ! I have a few, select, favourite yarn suppliers. These are the people I most enthusiastically recommend :

Get Knitted
HipKnits
Curious Yarns
Posh Yarns
Linden Lane Farm

These are people I keep buying from. I have happily bought from others [no insult intended if you're not on the list],but these have my loyalty ! Before you stomp off in indignation,my yarn and fibre purchases are quite modest these days, for obvious reasons.
Which leads me neatly to the amazing auctions for Oliver's Fund. There'll be more auctions after these are finished, not least because I've trawled through my stash a second time and have a bag to send. If you have any orphan balls or hanks of yarn that need a new home they can be sent here:
Oliver's Fund

Many, many thanks in advance. A million thanks to everyone who has donated yarn so far.
Particular thanks go to a very generous person who included a gift for me with her donated orphan yarn.

Beautiful, soft, gorgeously coloured laceweight yarn,a pattern for a stole and a short note with a name on. I am so touched. Thank you so much for your sweet generosity. Please leave a comment so that I can thank you properly. I don't put my e-mail on this site, for a number of reasons, not least of which is that I can't keep up with my e-mails as it is !

That's it ! Next time there might be some actual knitting content, and some Oliver stuff [the reason most of you come here !]. I keep meaning to mention that the accupuncture is working. Things are getting better, just slowly. I do feel so much better, and have a lot less pain, than a few weeks go. A long way to go yet.
