The saturday before the Chick's birthday I spent a very pleasant afternoon with some of my knitting gang. Of course,I forgot about my camera until it was time to go. Apologies to Maeve for missing her out again.
Val was our wonderful hostess.

There was much chat [so much to catch up on],laughter and sharing of books,magazines and yarn. Here's Enid,making plans !

We started Tracey on double pointed needles and sock yarn,knitting a mobile cover. Socks next ! Fab !

Tracey has her concentrating face on ! She really was enjoying herself !
A certain someone insisted on coming in ''to see the girls'' when the boys came to collect me.

I received my most wonderful

package the other day.
Dee really spoilt me.


Such beautiful spinning fibres. Violet 100% merino top,soft purple mrino/angora top and stunning tencel/merino in a colour called Heather from Chasing Rainbows Dyeworks.
Here is the tencel blend without flash. Very pretty.

The Misti Alpaca is so soft. I will have to make something for my neck with it. There was a ball of Deco Ribbon yarn in colour 303,and two pots with magnetic bottoms [for pins ?]. Dee also,very kindly,included a birthday gift for Oliver. A Batman fleece blanket,which has been on his bed since it arrived !

School started last wednesday. I'm really missing Oliver,and enjoying some quiet time. He's happy to be back.
My hands are still very painful after the summer's single handed lifting and positioning. Thumb joints and my right forefinger,where I caught my finger and bent it right back [*!*@**!] when lifting Oliver one day,are particularly bad. Still,I'm knitting again,after six weeks of hardly a stitch. The socks are progressing.

They need the recipient to come and try them for length before I commit to sewing in the ends.

Off to knit,after I've hung out washing...
