Felled by a nasty little virus.
The chick has been off all week, being really quite ill. Hacking, rattly cough, high temps and copious amounts of snot. Now it's my turn, and I'm exhausted after, what seems like, a very long week. It isn't the chick's fault by any means, but caring for an ill disabled child is incredibly labour intensive. Not helped by someone's refusal to sleep his way through the high temp days. So I'm knackered and knitting deprived. Peace and quite deprived too.
Can't be helped, and I'm only having a small whinge !

I finished the socks for my Favourite Colour Swap pal, and sent off the package today. I'm not up to doing loads of links.
Next time [soon !] I'll post about the lovely package I got as part of the Spin to Knit swap, and what I sent out.
Right now I need to blow my nose, take some paracetamol and go to bed.
I was planning on a decent catch-up post and a few, long awaited, e-mails, but look at the time ! Just gone midnight. Time for bed.
We seem to have had a busy weekend, and I never seem to get caught up. I've trawled through my photos, ditched a few that are now past their moment, having lost all relevance.
The blog posts I plan, and write in my head, that never get this far !
Roses bought by the boys last weekend. Sigh. My favourite colour, and these have a soft scent when you bury your nose in the velvet soft petals.

This week I received a cream enamelled bucket with sunflower seeds, to be planted up. I'll take a pic this week.

Folly's sleeves are further on than this, the second being nearly done. It's going slower than I'd like, despite being such a pleasure to knit. It needs it's own post. Soon, soon.
HOIST NEWS :
During half term the engineer eventually came to measure things and suggest workable systems. The best bet involved drilling holes in the Hippo frame, for reasons I'm too tired to explain now. I needed to check if that invalidated the warranty. It doesn't.
The quote has arrived. Just a bit over what's in Oliver's Fund, which is so cool. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, either directly or by bidding on a yarn "stash". This week I shall transfer the money and then write a cheque. Then we just need to tie in with the engineer to fix a date. So exciting ! It really will be great to load the Hippo into the back of the car [ the Galaxy is so high up that the ramp is too steep to be functional] and take the chick marauding !
O.K. Bed.
I intend to write some e-mails this week. Really, I do. And maybe a post with links. Possibly.
