ONCE UPON A TIME.

*** Edited to add : I've fixed the pic problem. I think...
Made my brain hurt ! **

July the 12th is a significant day for many. For us it is a most special day. 25 years ago today, at 3.00p.m., my beloved Allan and I got married. It's our silver wedding anniversary.
I met him days after giving up men ! At least until I got my degree ! I'd just come out of a crappy relationship with a complete plonker...

Weren't we gorgeous ?!
[A digression : I was always made to feel ugly and fat. A major disappointment to, in particular, my mother. From here, as a peri-menopausal, morbidly obese [I hate that term, but there you go...] 47 year old, I look truly gorgeous. Not conventionaly pretty, but gorgeous. I want my lovely hair back. Pout !]
So, here we are on our wedding day. Not such great photos to scan. No professional photographer. Luckily you don't need an expensive wedding, or a small arse, to have a truly happy marriage. We annoy each other at times. We've had some really bad times, without which we'd be less able to appreciate our joyous and wonderful times. We've grown together, and grown up together. We still really love each other. We are so lucky.

I hope we make it to 50 years !

This last picture is to make you all squeal ''NO WAY !''. It was taken in 1973, in Sicily. We spent eight weeks there that summer as Papa was based there as head of a large holiday company's Mediterranean operations. I was 13. Truly. Thirteen. I was rather mature for my age, and somewhat a wild child ! That's all I'm saying !

Edited to add : Oh dear. Am I the only one who can see the scanned photos ?
When I initially uploaded them they were all distorted. The height and width measurements, correct prior to uploading, were all reversed. The only way to correct the images I found, after numerous attempts, was to correct the measurements in the text. I'm guessing this is significant [No kidding !], but have no idea why. Any Mac geeks care to help ?

You get the picture !
I'm sorry to be so slow to post. Spent an outrageously wet [there's rain, then there's ridiculous !], wet week with a foul cold. Still coughing up a lung at regular intervals during the day. Breathless on the slightest exertion. Staggering to school and back leaves me in a wheezing heap. I will fill in details, and talk about my limited Woolfest experience. Just too tired to think right now.
At least the views were stunningly beautiful. Even in the rain.
Oliver was deeply shocked when the Jackdaws stole our cheese ! The milkman, foolishily, didn't cover it. They pecked their way through almost a full half pound by the time Allan got to it.
It wasn't too awful. We were dry, warmish and able to enjoy the views. Still, a year's worth of anticipation washed away in a week long torrential downpour pretty much sums it up !
Off for a cough before bed. Must be time for my next swig of cough mixture.
Fab ! :0)
