CLOSURES !

Don't panic ! I'm talking about buttons.
Sorry not to have posted in a while [ didn't intend to worry you Carol.]. I've been preoccupied of late. With ''stuff''. That, and really, really tired. I think it's an autumn thing. You know. My brain obviously thinks it's time to hibernate.
Luckily Oliver's brain is going great guns ! He's had a fantastic, enthusiastic and happy start to the school year. All we really want for him is that he's happy. People assume that by that we mean that we shower him with toys and sweets and always let him have his own way, all the time. I don't think that makes a child happy. Feeling valued, loved and respected does. Feeling a sense of achievement and having an occupied mind too. Those are the things we hope to give him so that he is happy within himself.
We have allowed him to choose not to cut his hair. For the time being ! If he leeps moaning about tangles I might have a rethink. Actually, I really like it long, when it starts to get a hint of a curl.

Where wa I ? Ah yes, closures.
Did you know that Uta, from whom I have bought my Kauni yarn, also sells the Kauni buttons. I intend to stain and then varnish mine. I'll tell you about it when I do it. Don't hold your breath !

The last pic is to show scale, and point out that red socks have been requested for this winter !

The other closures I've indulged in are some artisan brooches from Fyberspates. Jen will be getting more stock in. They're made in Scotland, and are gorgeous ! Great for shawls and as garment closures.

Aren't they beautiful ?
Oh look. I've almost finished a pair of socks. Staggering.

Thanks to those who commented on my last post. I appreciate it. Glenda and her husband have made a little youtube video. No harm in watching. Or not, if you are one of the numerous , um, people who unsubbed from bloglines. Happens every time I blog about disability. Astounds me everytime too !
