I STILL SPIN .

Except for the last few days when pain has hampered any physical activity. All I'm going to say about that is that I didn't know that symphysis pubis, now more commonly referred to as pelvic girdle pain would feature in my perimenopause experience. Not the least bit amusing, and so debilitating that I had to ask a friend to bring Oliver home from school. Something I find hard to do, asking for help. I'm very lucky to have an understanding friend and I'm grateful that she saved me from an afternoon of extreme pain, getting myself there and back. Very slowly, with much groaning. In fact my throat is sore from groaning !
Enough of that !
Last month I plied up the Romney and mohair blend that filled my bobbins. Here are pics with and without flash. Both truly capture aspects of the colour.

I enjoyed spinning a much thicker yarn than is usual for me, using the easy to draft fibres from Liz.
Now I'm slowly filling the bobbins with a gorgeous, beautifully dyed, targhee from Susan.

It's a wool I've not spun before, and I'm enjoying it very much. The fibres, although smooth and very easy to spin, aren't overly processed, so have plenty of life. I'm spinning a laceweight, keeping on track with the aid of a handy wpi tool that Susan sells.

That's it for now folks ! Next time you can read about me flitting from small simple project to small mindless project, unable to commit to knitting anything with any real or metaphorical weight to it.
On reflection I don't feel bad about that. I do this for fun, pleasure, peace and to satisfy a need to work with colour and fibre. If all I can manage are these short term projects that's fine. It would be nice to recover my equilibrium, and to be able to focus without the distractions of stress and pain. Such is life.
