SQUARES FOR OLIVER.

olisquares23:10:07.jpg
I'm gradually knitting up the little, leftover balls of sock yarn I have roling about. I gave a huge bagful to school a while back, so don't have as much as you think. Anyway, Michaela has had a panic about the lack of squares, and people wanting to buy raffle tickets. I think it's early days yet for the squares. Just in case I'm deluding myself, I'm knitting a few. It would be nice to have a blanket to raffle. Even if only five people want it ! I'm hoping that once there's a beautiful blanket on offer people will be desperately buying one or two raffle tickets in order to win it. Obviously any addition to Oliver's fund is most gratefully accepted, and I'd be lying if I didn't confess that I hope lots of people will buy a ticket [£1 or $2]. I also hope this does well for Michaela. It was her generous idea. She wanted to do something for Oliver. It was a lovely surprise when she made the offer to set this up, organise it and sew up the squares. I hope she isn't too upset and disappointed.
Not wanting to make anyone feel guilty or anything ! If you feel like knitting a 4 inch sock yarn square I'd be thrilled. Some details here.

Whilst hobbling about on Saturday, already in a lot of pain, there was a shockingly loud crack and I felt something "pop" in my ankle. I can't express how fed up I feel. I can't walk, and am get around using a walking stick and any available door frame/ radiator/ sturdy piece of furniture. I'm struggling to keep my spirits up. Going a little stir crazy. Relying on a good friend to bring Oliver home. It's all just too much !
I'm sitting around with a cold pack on my elevated ankle, taking an anti-inflammatory and hoping it's better before Allan goes away in two weeks. That's really adding to my stress levels.
So, send love !
Here is a pop-up pic of my ankle ! I do suffer really bad oedema. Even so, that's a pretty swollen ankle. A bruise is just starting to appear above the ankle bone [in there, somewhere]. I'm gingerly applying arnica ointment.
Did I mention that I'm fed up ?!
