a little [ o.k., not so little ] boy. In his new wheelchair. The last time he wore the soft, warm, lovingly knitted hat that was deamed ''too orangey'' !
If anyone would like a hardly worn, small adult sized, orange Malarigo hat ...
All that aside, the incredible wave of love and support for our beautiful chick has been humbling, indeed overwhelming.
How will we ever be able to adequately thank all those knitters who made four inch squares, then posted them to Michaela and Kay. All the generous and caring people who have bought, and are still buying, raffle tickets for the most beautiful blankets.

This incredibly beautiful blanket , the ''American blanket'' is the result of Kay's call to needles. She put so much thought into the Kaffe inspired design, so much time into the organisation, assembling and miles of applied i-cord, that mere words cannot fully express our gratitude. Oliver is honoured and priveledged to be able to call her [adopted] aunt. We love you Kay. We love all of your knitting friends too !
This is the next blanket to be auctioned, once I have finished sending all the ticket details to Michaela, and she has finished filling in the raffle tickets. We've been working flat out, much to our astonishment.
The next blanket is U.K. blanket number 3.

This lovely blanket is the work of the incredibly generous Michaela. The blankets and raffle were her idea. She has put in hours of work sewing together the three [so far] U.K. blankets [ no. 1 twice, but that's another story]. She, too, almost lost the will to knit, attaching miles of i-cord to blanket 1. Such incredible i-cord skill and fortitude my two friends have ! Michaela's mother has knitted all the triangles that border both blanket 2 and 3. Huge thanks to Michaela's wonderful mother ! Again, the true depth of my heartfelt gratitude is impossible to fully express.
How will I ever be able to repay all the love that has come our way ? The huge, wool filled, hug of thousands of knitters.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !

A little knitting. Pretty insignificant compared to the blankets of Oliver love. Still, it's knitting !
I made my dear friend T. a hat for Christmas. I did take pics, but somewhere between the camera battery needing recharging and uploading said pics, they disappeared. No trace !
I convinced T. to pose in the hat, which I am thrilled to say she wears all the time. Nearly ! Now that warms the cockles of a knitter's heart. She's a knitter and fellow lover of fine yarn, so she understands these things. These pics aren't fab, it being murky and grey, but they give an idea.

It's knit from Mlabrigo worsted, colour Oliva, which, as you know, I think is the perfect yarn for hats. The body is in the scale skin pattern, the slip stitch pattern I really like for socks. Seems to work well for hats too !

I really hope that this update appears on bloglines. The last one didn't. :0(
They say they've fixed the problem...
