BIRTHDAY !
Well, it will be, once I've gone to bed and then got up again !

Eek !
Seems to me that 50 is the new 40, and it looms.
It's been a funny old year, more in the strange sense than any other. I seriously lost my blogging, e-mailing and commenting mojo. After some thought, and thought clarifying conversation, I think this was mainly due to a couple of people, their self-absorbed but not self-aware [isn't that often the way ?!] behaviour and, well, it's time to dump their bad karma really. Time to not let other's actions bring me down.
I'm not going to do a review of my year, however. I think that bad health had far too big a role, and that will always drag you down.
I am so grateful for dear friends, close and far away [ deep love to my friend in NY. I'll e-mail you. Really ! I am always fine with whatever you suggest. xxx ]. I had a wonderful pre-birthday weekend.

These flowers were a gift from the lovely Heather, who came for a, far too short, visit. Dearest K2 and T came over for a far too short afternoon of chatting, yarn stroking, knitting, tea and cheesecake. Is there a better way to spend a saturday ? I think not !
Of course, the fact that I have a digital camera did not impinge on my consciousness until Heather was about to leave ! So, here is a picture of her beautiful, smilimg face.

I have so much catching up to do. I really should blog more often. Ha, ha !
On Christmas Eve afternoon the boys went out for some air

whilst I sewed in ends

to finish the socks for T. They were washed, blocked and dried on a radiator in time to hand over a wrapped gift that evening.

They are the Dresser Scarf socks, knit in Plushness from Skein Queen. The colour is Peacock, from her sock club.
It was worth it. She wore them on saturday, which made me happy. They fit well and, in my opinion, look great.

So. This year ? More time with friends, more knitting, more wine, more blogging. Sounds like a plan !
