This entry has been waiting, with photos but no words, for me to get the impetus to write it.
We're all settling down into a new routine, starting the day much earlier [painfully for me, as I'm most definitely a night owl ] and getting used to new things. Oliver seems very happy at his new school and also seems to have matured quite dramatically. We're very happy with how things are going and with how responsive they are. So. Secondary school, first time traveling on a bus on his own [It may only be a 10 minute journey, but still...] and lots of new things to learn and new ways of doing things are all exciting and very tiring things.
It's a new season here too. Autumn is definitely here, with the leaves turning and falling. A lot of plants are starting to shut down. There's less sun and I've got my Mood Light out. I'm determined to try and keep my mood up as best I can this year. I shall be off out to sit in the sun after I've finished this.

I've started a Tiny Tea Leaves Cardigan for my niece in a stunning shade of blue Skein Queen Desire called Lapis Lazuli.

I don't have quite enough of that colour, so may have to get creative.

I also started some Andrea's Mitts, in a beautiful shade of Madeline Tosh DK.

The lace pattern was so tight it wouldn't have fitted the most slender of hands. I had to rip out and start again, knitting just the lace in a size larger needle. I'll get back to them once the cardigan is finished.

Sadly, I think we've had the last of our lovely yellow courgettes.

The tomatoes are still producing. A bit of a glut, to be honest ! They're still ripening, but staying small.

It's been quite a productive garden this year.

I've put another photo from Oliver's birthday in the extended entry.
Mainly because there are friends in it and I'd rather keep it out of search engine range.
Not the sunniest August day, but always lovely to be out in the countryside and all that fresh air.
